Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 April 2026 · Applies to Miccy software information and this website

This Privacy Policy explains how Anamedi GmbH ("we", "us") handles personal data in connection with the Miccy project: the open-source application, this marketing website, and related download pages we operate. Miccy is designed so that speech recognition and optional note structuring can run on your device; this document describes what still touches our infrastructure or third parties when you use the site or download and update the app.

1. Data controller

The controller responsible for processing personal data under this policy is:

Anamedi GmbH
Kreuzstrasse 4
4123 Allschwil
Switzerland
Website: https://anamedi.com

For privacy-specific requests, email info@anamedi.com or use the contact channels published on anamedi.com. We will respond under applicable law (including the GDPR where it applies).

2. Scope: website vs. Miccy application

This website (pages such as the landing page, download instructions, and this Privacy Policy) may process limited technical data when you load a page (see below).

The Miccy application runs on your computer. For the default local workflow, we do not receive your consultation audio, transcripts, or structured notes on our servers merely because you use Miccy as described in our public materials. Processing for dictation and on-device structuring happens on hardware you control. If you configure Miccy to use an external language model endpoint (for example an Ollama-compatible server you operate), that connection is between your machine and that endpoint; it is not controlled by this policy unless that endpoint is ours.

3. Miccy application: updates, models, and diagnostics

When you use Miccy, the following may involve network access:

  • Application updates. The app may contact a distribution host (for example GitHub Releases or another host we configure) to check for or download updates. That host receives typical technical data such as IP address, user agent, and access time as part of normal HTTPS requests.
  • Model downloads. Speech and optional structuring models may be downloaded from servers we or third parties operate. Those requests share similar technical metadata with the host.
  • No account required for core use. We do not require you to create a Miccy account on our systems for the core local workflow described on this site.

We do not use this policy to claim access to patient-identifiable content from your sessions; organisational rules for clinical data remain your responsibility.

4. This website: hosting and technical data

When you visit our website, the hosting provider and infrastructure we use may automatically process:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Date and time of access
  • Browser type, device type, and referrer where transmitted
  • HTTP status and error logs for security and reliability

We use this information on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure, available website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where required, to meet legal obligations.

5. Fonts (Google Fonts)

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC). When your browser requests those files, Google may process technical data including your IP address. See Google's privacy information for details: https://policies.google.com/privacy. If you prefer to avoid this, you can use browser extensions that block third-party requests or contact us about self-hosting fonts in future.

6. Cookies and local storage

This static site does not set non-essential analytics cookies for routine browsing. The Miccy desktop app may use local storage on your device for settings and history as described in its documentation; that data stays on your machine unless you export it or configure sync features we might add in the future (which would be described separately).

7. Source code and community

If we publish source code or releases on platforms such as GitHub, your interaction with those platforms (issues, pull requests, clone events) is governed by GitHub's privacy policy, not this document alone.

8. Retention

Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance, typically on a rolling basis defined by our hosting provider. We do not build a profile of individual website visitors for marketing from Miccy web traffic alone.

9. Your rights (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability, in each case subject to conditions in the law. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights relating to data we process as controller, contact us at info@anamedi.com or via anamedi.com.

10. International transfers

If we or our processors transfer personal data outside the EEA or UK, we will rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required.

11. Children

Miccy is intended for professional and adult use in clinical documentation contexts. This site is not directed at children.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices or the law change. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised and, for material changes, we may post a notice on this site.

13. Contact

Questions about this policy or Miccy privacy practices: info@anamedi.com or https://anamedi.com.
